my avatar

First of all, everyone who sees me on a daily basis will recognize that the only thing about my avatar that even remotely resembles me is the gray hair and dark eyes. Having said that, I did find creating my avatar to be interesting and maybe a bit disturbing. The choice of attire was a trip through fantasy land...though I'm not sure whose fantasy I was tripping though! I know it's about creating a fun looks-like-me (sort of) alter ego, but most of the choices made me feel like I was creating an ava-tart. And let's face it, at my age the whole tart wannabe thing is a distant, albeit pleasant memory.

Nicely done Cardboard Queen. It's too bad you couldn't incorporate a cardboard crown.

Thanks for the positive feedback joe and groovelily. I never even thought about adding a cardboard crown...I'll have to check it out and get back to you.

Great avatar, CQ! I totally know where you're coming from about the whole tart wannabe thing. Ahhh... back in the day... (but I digress). I have to say the only thing that disappoints me about making my avatar is that I felt so limited as to age and body shape. Face it, even with gray hair, one's avatar still looks mid-20's/30's. And with my avi, I chose the largest body type they offered, and I could still pass for a supermodel. I guess I'd like a little more realism for those who might want to somewhat resemble themselves (with a few tweaks, of course).

Right on thisandthat! I didn't realize there were body-type choices. I guess I should go back and check that out. In the end I think my sock monkey is more representative of who I really am. But that sounds kinda creepy, doesn't it?

Love your kitchen. I hope that squirrel is housebroken. I guess I missed the idea that your avatar was supposed to look like you. Why not tart it up?

Does anyone really resemble their avatar? I know I don't. :-) I'd never ever wear a top that shows any part of my belly in any way shape or form, as I sometimes choose to put on my gal just for fun...My avatar has the body that I'd have if I didn't sit on my butt (can I say that here? Guess I just did!) for a living, could spend 4 hours a day working out and never ate anything except leafy green salads and the occasional piece of fruit. Oh yeah, and the occasional piece of bubble gum. I like to think that even my avatar has at least one bad habit.
